Learning to walk comes with its share of bruises...
Lately, our 10-month old Asher has been starting to stand by himself. We're pretty sure he will begin clumsily walking soon. If learning to crawl is any indication, there will be a few bumps and bruises along the way.
Watching a baby learn to walk reminds me of our faith journey. God gives us life, and slowly we learn to crawl, stand and walk to where we're headed. And there are some bumps and bruises along the way.
This month, Liz will finish her maternity leave. It has been difficult for her to find a job that allows her to earn income and take care of Asher. After a lot of prayer and wrestling with God, we are taking the next step.
We strongly believe that God is continuing to call us to eMi. Liz will also be working as a Stella & Dot stylist. While she is establishing her business, we need to increase our current support level significantly to be able to continue following God's call to ministry with eMi. There are a lot of ways you can join us and eMi in ministry
Here are a few we hope you'll consider being a part of: (click on each to find out more)
*Note: The photos mentioned above are some of the favourites I've taken on trips and around Calgary. Proceeds from any prints that are ordered help us continue working with eMi. Feel free to email me with any questions
I want to be clear about what we're asking. While we're being honest about our needs, we are doing so in order to continue serving where God has called us to. But we aren't asking you to give to us, we are asking you to give to God.
Writing about giving in Philippians 4, Paul said this:
"Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that
more be credited to your account." (v.17)
"My God will meet all your needs according to the
riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." (v.19)
Paul is thanking the Philippians for their support of his ministry and encouraging them that their giving is "credit to their accounts". In other words, they are storing up their riches in heaven! This is our desire for all of you as well!
