I never would have thought that a lunch at a Humpty's restaurant could be especially memorable ...
(no offense to Humpty's).
I don't remember what I ate, the day of the week or the weather outside, but I remember my lunch in May of 2011 with Kevin (a fellow eMi staff member) as he invited me to join my first eMi project trip to Haiti.
On that trip, we designed a new orphanage complex for Haiti Children's Home in the town of Mirebalais.
Just over four years later, the kids are finally moving in!
It's really exciting to see plans prepared by eMi being constructed and used for their ultimate purpose - to help provide a world of hope for the physically and spiritually poor. Plans and drawings are great, but they don't accomplish their true goal until the facilities they detail are actually being used.

I hope you're all as excited as I am. Many of you helped send me on that trip to Haiti. Many of you also continue to support Liz and I as we serve full-time with eMi. Thank you so much! God has made this possible THROUGH you. What a blessing it is to serve him and begin to see the fruits of that service!
Linked below is a great video from the organization in Haiti, which was posted just before the kids moved in. I hope you'll take some time to watch it.

I've also written a blog post with a more detailed reflection of that first trip, and how it changed our lives as we committed to join staff at eMi shortly afterwards (click here to read it).
I'm looking forward to sharing more of these stories with you. Thanks for all of your prayers, support and encouragement.
